The Danish Handball Player's Association (Håndbold Spiller Foreningen) is a non-governmental organization which safeguards the interests of Danish elite handball players and foreign players playing in the Danish national league.

Individual guidance
The Danish Handball Players Association provides the individual member of the organization with professional guidance in legal, tax, insurance and career matters. The organization may be helpful if you do not understand the contents of a contract, if you are involved in a dispute with your club, if you need help in negotiating a new contract, if you do not recieve your salary or payment slip, etc.

Besides great experience in such legal questions the organization has relations to external advisers, therefore all inquiries will be answered in a highly professional way.

Collective rights & benefits
The Danish Handball Players Association protects collective rights of elite handball players in and from Denmark. An example of this could be, if the name or face of players are used unauthorized in a commercial context, the organization will then pursue the collective interests of the players for compensation.

The Danish Handball Players Association aims to be a serious party in the negotiations of important decisions regarding professional handball. The organization will take part when the compulsory standard contract is being revised, because influence on working conditions is crucial to elite handball players as to any other employee in a modern community.

In general, the Danish Handball Players Association constitutes it's visions and ideas in the public debate concerning the development of Danish handball and the formulation of future goals. The aim of the organization is to make sure that the increasing professionalism in Danish handball happens in a responsible and reasonable way for the players.

To fulfill these various goals the Danish Handball Players Association believes that a constructive co-operation between the parties involved is vital. Danish Athletes AssociationThe Danish Handball Players Association is a member of the Danish Athletes Association (Danske Elitesportsudøveres Forening (D.E.F.)). D.E.F. is an organization where the interests of all Danish athletes are represented; football players, basketball players, volleyball players, martial artists, etc. D.E.F also provides legal assistance to athletes which do not have a formal union already.

International Cooperation
The Danish Handball Player Association has an international network of fellow handball players associations in Europe. The organizations are able to co-operate across borders to fulfill common goals. Together with NL Sporter in the Netherlands the Danish Handball Players Association has established an international athletes association.
